What We Do And Don't Discriminate About

When setting up the club we started talking about this in terms of treating all riders as equals, but in truth there are things we very much do discriminate about. So, for clarity:

• We don’t give a damn whether you are male or female; your age, disability, sexuality, skin colour, gender identity and that sort of stuff makes no difference so long as you can legally ride a motorcycle or trike.

We don't try to create some grim, humourless politically correct space. Banter and taking the mick are pretty normal, but we aren't OK with people getting genuinely hurt by comments.

• We do discriminate on whether you love riding motorcycles or trikes, whether you are up for getting out and doing stuff, whether you are willing to put yourself out to support other club members, whether you treat other bikers with respect and whether we all click and have fun together.

Disability can be a tricky one. We want to be as open to someone with a disability as possible, but we are a bike and trike riding club and do not have the experience or resources to make adaptations to vehicles. This is why we are affiliated to NABD and we would recommend them for their knowledge of the law and technological adaptations, and the fact they provide grants to adapt vehicles.
